The Story of Cashmere House
Cashmere House originates from a long-standing connection to Mongolia – the region that produces some of the world’s finest cashmere. For nearly two decades, founder Morten Minde has worked closely with manufacturers, designers and herding families to understand the fiber from its origin to the finished garment.
Through experience from both physical retail stores and international collaboration, we have developed a deep understanding of quality, craftsmanship and the value chain behind authentic cashmere.
In the physical world, position is often defined by geography. In the digital world, it is created through structure and global reach. For this reason, CashmereHouse.com has been established as an international platform through our Digital Cashmere Cluster (DCC).
Within this structure, selected producers, designers and partners collaborate in a transparent, quality-driven model that brings authentic Mongolian cashmere closer to customers around the world.
Cashmere House is more than a brand – it is a long-term collaboration built on origin, experience and trust.
Sustainable Cashmere
Sustainability is a central part of the vision behind our Digital Cashmere Cluster (DCC) — a structure designed to promote greater transparency, quality, and long-term thinking in the Mongolian cashmere value chain.
Through DCC, we work closely with selected producers and factories in Mongolia to ensure high fiber quality, responsible animal husbandry, and good working conditions. Our partners follow international standards, and the factories we collaborate with are ISO-certified, while several suppliers are also affiliated with initiatives such as SFA and IAF.
By keeping production close to the raw materials and maintaining close cooperation throughout the value chain, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable development — from the steppes of Mongolia to finished garments designed to last for years.
From me to you
Cashmere House and CashmereHouse.com are built on one simple idea: to bring authentic Mongolian cashmere closer to customers around the world — while building long-term relationships between producers, designers, and partners.
After nearly 20 years in the cashmere industry, I have gained a close understanding of how the market is evolving. Especially after Covid, the industry has become increasingly concentrated, with a few large players gaining greater control over the value chain. At the same time, more production is gradually moving back closer to the origin of the raw material in Mongolia.
The challenge is that the distance between producers and markets often becomes greater for smaller actors. It was precisely this development that inspired the idea behind the Digital Cashmere Cluster (DCC).
Through CashmereHouse.com, we aim to connect factories, designers, and markets through one digital platform. At the same time, we invite new producers, designers, and retail partners to join the collaboration — with the goal of creating a more transparent and balanced ecosystem around one of the world’s finest natural fibres.
This is not only about trade.
It is about quality, collaboration, and respect for the craftsmanship behind genuine cashmere.
To strengthen the connection to production, we are also working on moving parts of the development of DCC to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia during 2026, allowing even closer cooperation with the factories we work with.
If you share our passion for authentic cashmere and would like to become part of the Digital Cashmere Cluster, we warmly welcome new partners to join us.
Welcome to the journey ahead.
